Author Guidelines
Submission & Formatting Guidelines
The PURC Journal of Law (PURCJOL) welcomes original, unpublished, and high-quality scholarly contributions from academicians, researchers, legal practitioners, professionals, and students. Authors are requested to carefully follow the submission and formatting requirements before submitting their manuscripts.
Submission Guidelines
- Authors must submit only original and unpublished manuscripts in editable Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format to the journal website: MAKE A SUBMISSION, in case of any difficulty contact at purcl.journaloflaw@gmail.com.
- Each submission must be accompanied by a separate cover letter containing:
- Full Name of the Author(s)
- Position/Designation (if applicable)
- Institutional Affiliation(s) with PIN Code
- Contact Details of the Author(s)
- Title of the Manuscript
- Declaration confirming the originality of the work
- Authors' contribution
- Conflict of Interests, if any
- Authors are required to submit a plagiarism/similarity report generated through Turnitin or DrillBit. The manuscript must have a similarity index below 10%. Submissions without the plagiarism report or exceeding the prescribed limit will be rejected without review.
- The PURC Journal of Law follow the single blind review process, the manuscript must contain relevant and genuine content with due credits. AI generated content and references are not allowed.
- The Journal accepts the following categories of submissions:
- Articles (Regular Research Articles & Reviews): 4,000–5,000 words
- Short Notes: 3,000–4,000 words
- Case Comments / Legislative Comments: 1,500–3,000 words
- Book Reviews: 1,000–2,000 words
The above word limits are exclusive of footnotes and will be strictly enforced.
- Every manuscript must include an Abstract of not more than 250 words, followed by six (6) keywords. The abstract and keywords are excluded from the prescribed word limit.
- A manuscript may have 2-authors. Each author's contribution must be listed after the conclusion, in a short section.
- Author(s) can submit more than one manuscript at a time, but only the one article will be consider in an issue, provided follow the peer review process and recommended for acceptance.
- The Journal of Law does not charge any submission, processing, review, or publication fee. Authors receiving any request for publication charges should immediately report the matter to the Editorial Board for verification.
- Authors must ensure that the manuscript has not been published or simultaneously submitted to any other journal, conference, or periodical. Duplicate or overlapping publication is strictly prohibited.
- The PURC Journal of Law protects all exclusive rights of the author(s), and author(s) remain copyright holders after publishing the article(s). Also, the author(s) grant permission to the third parties to use the article content/components with full freedom.
Formatting & Citation Guidelines
- The manuscript must contain an appropriate title on the cover page. The title should be in Times New Roman, 16 pt, bold, and in capital letters.
- The manuscript should not contain any author identification or biographical information anywhere within the main text.
- The main body of the manuscript must be typed in Times New Roman, 12 pt.
- Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, 10 pt.
- The line spacing should be:
- Main Text: 1.5
- Footnotes: Single (1.0)
- Authors are encouraged to use appropriate headings and subheadings throughout the manuscript using the following format:
- Title: Capital Letters, Bold, 16 pt, Times New Roman
- Main Headings: Centre Aligned, Bold, 14 pt, Times New Roman, with Roman numbering
- Subheadings: Justified, Bold, 12 pt, Times New Roman
- Footnotes and citations must strictly follow the citation style prescribed by the Indian Law Institute (ILI) and should be presented in single spacing.
- All manuscripts are subject to single blind peer review and editorial modifications in accordance with the Journal's style sheet.
- The decision of the Editorial Board regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript shall be final and binding.
Complaints
For any complaint, authors may write directly to the Managing Editor. If the response or action taken is not satisfactory, authors may contact or write to the Chief Editor, providing all relevant supporting documents.
ORCID
Authors are encouraged to include their ORCID iD in the manuscript.
References
For references containing web links, DOI links should be given first priority. If a DOI is not available, provide the relevant website URL and indicate the date on which the information was accessed. Authors should avoid using excessively long or non-academic website URLs whenever possible.
