Legal Paradigms in Protecting Biodiversity in India: A Pathway for A Sustainable Future

This research paper analyses the crucial relationship between biological diversity and law in India, where there is rich biodiversity. The paper describes where the threats to species are currently and how those threats are manifested. As these threats grow, it becomes even more crucial to have proper and flexible legal instruments which will help protect such biologically diverse systems and promote rational usage of resources. The paper calls for a flexible approach to the legal system that would do justice not only to the purposes of species protection but also to the visions of the indigenous people and the general notions of ecological sustainability.
